Suppliers & factories (China)
For factories: what it takes to join, what a listing needs, how orders run and how settlement works.
The detailed onboarding steps and FAQ below are written in Chinese for factory staff.
Orders come from buyers
We work with importers, distributors and brand owners in the Gulf and Muslim markets; you produce to the agreed lead time. Group-buy pools orders from the same country and city, so the threshold does not sit on one buyer.
Documents are issued by us
Offer, proforma invoice, commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, health certificate and batch COA are issued and handled by us with the buyer; you cover production and shipping cooperation.
Prices stay off the public site
Your supply price and carton data appear only on the offer and proforma invoice, never on the public site; factory-branded images are cleared with you before publishing.
New to halal markets? Scan your current products first
You do not need to send documents first. Start with the ingredient panel: if it lists animal-derived content such as meat sources, animal fats or gelatine, a halal certificate is essentially required. Install the HalaLive app, photograph the panel and see the common risk points, free and without signing up.
- Install the app (App Store / Google Play; for mainland Android users, ask us for the package).
- Photograph the ingredient panel, or pick an image from your gallery.
- Read the flagged risk points and why: animal-derived additives, alcohol carriers and similar.
- If you are unsure, send us the ingredient panel and we will give a judgement item by item.
Scanning is a pre-screen: it shows the common problems in ingredients and formulations, and it is not a halal certificate. Whether a product can be exported to a given halal market still depends on the factory's certificate and the destination registration rules (Saudi SFDA, UAE ESMA, Malaysia JAKIM, Indonesia BPJPH and others).
Which products need halal certification
The rule is simple: look for animal-derived ingredients. If a food contains them, a halal certificate is essentially required; purely plant-based products usually do not need one.
Needs a halal certificate (the ingredient can be halal, but its source and processing must be proven)
- Beef, mutton and poultry and their products: seasonings and compound powders containing meat powder, meat stock or meat-derived flavourings (the meat must come from certified halal slaughter).
- Animal fats: beef tallow, mutton fat, chicken fat and blended oils containing them.
- Gelatine, collagen, animal-derived proteins and peptides (beef- or fish-derived with a certificate; pork-derived is not usable).
- Animal-derived enzymes and emulsifiers: used in some seasonings, compound powders and milk drinks.
- Dairy and egg products: depends on the market and the certificate's scope.
- Seasonings and flavourings carried in alcohol: most markets require declaration, and acceptance depends on their rules.
Usually not needed (plant-based, but general food rules still apply)
- Dried fruit and nuts, tea, beverage powders without dairy.
- Sugar, salt, single spices.
- Vegetable oils and plant-protein products (mind shared production lines).
Not halal at all — cannot be used (this is not a certificate question)
- Pork-derived ingredients: lard, pork gelatine, pork and its extracts, pork-derived enzymes.
- Beef, mutton or poultry without a halal certificate: meat of unknown slaughter is treated as unusable.
- Drinks in which alcohol is the main ingredient, and compound additives containing pork-derived emulsifiers or gelatine.
Two things people miss
- Shared lines: if the same workshop or line also runs meat products, cleaning validation or a dedicated line is needed — the ingredient list alone is not enough.
- Market difference: Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other GCC states target animal-derived products; Indonesia, Brunei and others cover a wider range of foods and drinks. The destination's current rules decide, and we check item by item.
- Buyer requirement: some chains and channels ask for a halal certificate as a listing condition even for plant-based products.
What you need
- An operating entity: valid business licence covering food production or sales.
- Food-related licence by category (e.g. SC production licence).
- Halal certificate: issuing body, number, validity and scope must line up (if you do not have one, say so).
- Export food producer filing (for direct export): verifiable filing number.
- Specs and carton data: pack format and gross/net weight at minimum; full carton L×W×H in cm to join group-buy.
- MOQ: one figure for factory-packed goods, one for private label.
- Images: clear product and packaging photos, without QR codes, contact details or shop watermarks.
- Send documents, not verbal figures: certificate scans and spec sheets are what we quote on.
How we work together
Send your entity and credentials: business licence, food production or trading licence, export food producer filing (for direct export), halal certificate (issuing body, number, validity, scope).
We verify: each certificate is checked against its number, item by item. If something is missing we tell you once, so you are not asked to resend again and again.
Build the supply listing: product name, category, unit (write "carton"), specification dimensions and values, MOQ, master carton size in cm, gross and net weight per carton, supply price, images, HS code.
Take orders and ship: after the order is placed we agree the lead time, inspect and retain a sample per batch before shipment, collect all documents (invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, health certificate, batch COA, halal certificate) and load the container.
